Being a global partner means being responsive to the changing conditions of those in the research sector, and the implications that so-called "generative AI" has on it. As you'll see by the dates on the bottom of this page and in our review of our methodological development, we've been doing large language model based generative text analysis since before it was called that. And, by focusing on maintaining scientific-level reliability and validity through our rational and open algorithm, curated corpora, and limited automatic generation, we've been doing it right all along.

As the name of our software might imply, we've been observing trends in the use of "generative AI" generally, and with respect to our product specifically when and where its results have been obvious. Many users are clearly successful, producing among other notable outcomes: scholarly presentations and publications; evaluations of large community, educational, and governmental programs; and highly lucrative marketing campaigns.

However, our observations also indicate that lack of care (or a looming deadline producing it) motivates far too many people to seek out automated analyses such as ours, in an attempt to offset deficits in knowledge or skills. These unaddressed deficits still impact the interpretation and implementation of its results, however, and as ethical scientists we can no longer watch that happen. So, for the foreseeable future, Raven's Eye will be available on a case-by-case basis.

If you or those who employ you are not making money off of your results and you've reviewed our online demonstrations and practical manual to ensure that Raven's Eye is right for your data and purposes, then in that case your DIY license is likely free. This includes most researchers at educational or nonprofit organizations, though student researchers are required to include their faculty sponsors in all correspondence with us.
